JuJu Smith-Schuster Rejoins Chiefs After Brief Stint with Patriots
JuJu Smith-Schuster is returning to the Kansas City Chiefs, the team where he earned a Super Bowl ring.
As reported on Monday morning, Juju Smith-Schuster has agreed to re-sign with the Chiefs.
The 27-year-old wide receiver previously played for Kansas City during the 2022 season, contributing significantly to their Super Bowl LVII victory. He was a key player, ranking second on the team with 78 receptions and 933 receiving yards during the regular season. In the postseason, he added 10 catches for 89 yards over three games.
Following his Super Bowl success, Smith-Schuster signed a three-year contract with the New England Patriots. However, his time there was less productive, managing just 29 receptions for 260 yards and one touchdown across 11 games before being released earlier this month.
The Chiefs, currently dealing with a shoulder injury to Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, see Smith-Schuster’s return as a boost to their receiving depth. However, his presence may impact the roles of players like Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore.
